Our company was established by former members of the South African Police Services.

Managing Director, Freddie van Wyk

A former Lieutenant–Colonel in the South African Police Services, served in the Crime Intelligence Section, Commander of VIP Protection Services and Detective Branch in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa and gained 32 years police experience in his field of service. He holds a National Diploma in Policing and has several qualifications in VIP protection, security management and scuba diving.

He holds an instructor's accreditation with the South African Security Officers Board and holds an international VIP protection qualification with the Ronin Protective Services. He is a member of the International Police Association (IPA). He earned service medals for 30 years' completed service and combating terrorism.

Operations Director, Wayne Hackart

A former Brigadier in the South African Police Force, Wayne comes with a wealth of knowledge and security expertise. He graduated from the University of Port Elizabeth with the MDP in business management, in 2003. He also has a National Diploma in Police Administration and a Diploma in Electronics. A trained VIP Protector and Bomb Disposal Expert, he has extensive training and experience in advanced rural and urban combat operations. He has extensive experience in managing multi-agency, multi- facet operations in both normal as well as hostile environments. He was appointed the FIFA Security Coordinator for the Eastern Province for the 2010 Soccer World Cup, where he was responsible for all aspects of operational planning and execution in relation to teams, venues, VIP’s and asset protection. He was recently appointed Security Coordinator for the largest multi agency engineering project for an oil rig in South African waters, to date. This included secured transportation of senior staff, emergency response planning and management; as well as all inter agency coordination and liaison.

Wayne is respected nationally for his operational planning and execution expertise..

Our operatives

Our operatives have vast experience in close VIP protection, having served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Executive Protective Services operatives, trained by Ronin Protective services (SA), are based in South Africa, Australia, Panama, United Kingdom and United States of America for immediate deployment.

Our operatives' accreditation includes City and Guilds (London) with level three certificates in close protection, Edexel (First person on Scene) medical response certificates and re-active training in defensive driving tactics and special weapons and tactics from RONIN.
